A Singaporean in Paris is a “juke box musical” that pays tribute to Singapore artists and French musical culture. This one-of-a-kind musical revue features top Singapore artists singing songs from some of the greatest French songwriters and performers-- Michel Legrand, Serge Gainsbourg, and Gilbert Becaud. Their songs have been sung by equally beloved international legends such as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli, Sting, and Elton John.
This unique musical experience explores the journey of a native Singaporean in magical Paris. The audience will accompany him through the many cultural differences he encounters. With a diverse blend of ballads, tangos, boleros, reggae, rock and classics, the musical examines themes of love, adventure, broken dreams, youth, home sickness, growing old, and death—while reminding us that life can show us much humour along the way!
Hossan Leong will be this Singaporean in Paris. He will be supported by Emma Yong, George Chan, Leigh McDonald and Robin Goh.
The show will run from 14th til 24th April 2010 at the DBS Arts Centre – Home of SRT.
