The founder

Sing'theatre, was founded by Nathalie Ribette, a French national, who has been involved in the performing arts in Singapore since 1998.

After 10 years spent in marketing and sales for international companies in France, Nathalie discovered that she had a passion for musical theatre and made her debut in Starmania, a rock musical (June 1998 at the Alliance Française). Since then she has been seen in approximately 20 theatre or musical productions on the local scene, and has worked for Wild Rice in their touring programme, Wild Rice on Wheels.

In November 2002, she made her debut as producer/director, staging a Franco-Singaporean version of Notre Dame de Paris, the musical at the Alliance Française. The show was sold out. Later in 2004, Nathalie designed, produced and directed No Regrets, a Tribute to Edith Piaf in partnership with the Alliance Française.

Then, she spent two years studying the evolution of the performing arts in Singapore and decided that she could bring something different, contribute to a wider choice on the local scene and attract new audiences to theatre.

To launch Sing’theatre, she gave in to popular demand and restaged No Regrets, a Tribute to Edith Piaf at the DBS ARTS CENTRE – Home of SRT last march 2007.
The show was both an artistic and commercial success with rave reviews.

Nathalie Ribette was recognized in March 2007 by the American Women Association of Singapore (AWA) for “extraordinary effort and outstanding contributions to the arts, culture and education in Singapore”.
